Grand Ramleela in Sultanpur Culminates with Lav-Kush Episode

Gaura (Pratapgarh), 21 October 2025: The annual Ramleela organized by Shri Adarsh Ramleela Samiti, Sultanpur concluded on 19 October 2025, a day before Diwali. The event attracted a large crowd from the village and surrounding areas, eager to witness the cultural extravaganza.

This Ramleela was started around 50 years ago in Sultanpur and has since become a hallmark of the village’s cultural identity. Despite changing times, the dedication and efforts of the committee members and performers have kept this tradition alive and engaging.

The committee’s president, Rajendra Prasad Mishra, highlighted that such events not only entertain but also instill moral values, spirituality, and cultural awareness among the younger generation. Treasurer Mata Prasad Jaiswal expressed gratitude towards the artists and the audience, while manager Ramchandra Yadav ensured the smooth execution of the event.

The direction was led by Jagat Bahadur Yadav, with co-direction by Dharmendra Yadav and Mohit Yadav, delivering a flawless theatrical presentation. The ensemble of artists including Surendra Yadav, Vidya Yadav, Dr. Umesh Shukla, Raj Bahadur Kanaujia, Ram Babu Yadav, Lav-Kush Yadav, Devtadeen Yadav, Anil Shukla, Mandan Srivastava, Guddu Dubey, Abhishek Shukla, Rajendra Chaurasia, and Jethu Maurya mesmerized the audience with their performance.

Committee officials and performers announced plans to make future Ramleela presentations even more grand and engaging. The villagers actively participated and supported the event, ensuring that children and youth remain connected to this age-old cultural tradition.
